Are you ready for the next season?
In a few weeks a new OCR season is starting! Possibly you are still lying on the couch, recovering from carnival and all the different parties. Maybe now it’s the time to refresh your new years resolutions. Do you already have made plans for the next month? Now it is time to implement those!
Who is in your team?
The most fun you’ll have in a team. Who of your friends is going to take part in your journey? Which one is the best motivator? Who is the entertainer? And who is the person needing a new adventure the most? Choose your next race and apply. Then there is no return anymore!
Get prepared!
A good preparation is an important requirement for your next challenge. Are you fast as a cheetah and strong as a Viking? Your training should contain both elements! Make fixed appointments to train with your friends, even if it’s just once a week. At this point of time everyone should be there, no excuses! And don’t use the weather conditions as one! Meeting for regular training sessions means to become strong together and grow as a team!
Here an idea for your weekly training session:
Look out for a route between 5 to 10km. Every 500m you integrate an exercise. Include the given infrastructure: the route itself, small gradients, walls, decommissioned rails, playgrounds( do not chase away the kids!!!), stairs, stones and whatever you can find.
You should be training everything which could be a part of an obstacle course: running, jumping, climbing, move hand over hand, balancing, as well as push and pull exercises.
This could be: Push-Ups, Pull-Ups, Burpees, Squats, Jumps, Sprints or planks. Maybe someone of you has a rope and you can do rope climbs.
Fun is obligatory!
Training or race: fun should be the priority. The best things of surviving an adventure is telling (varjagen😉) sagas afterwards with a finish-beer in your hands. Who couldn’t do the Walls? Who fell into the mud? Which one of you missed the Hammer Banger? But most importantly, be proud of your performance! And after the finish celebration? Go ahead and plan your next challenge!
