The best obstacle run in summertime is back! The Strong Viking Water Edition in Ghent takes place on Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 September 2021!
Get your towels ready, because on 18 & 19 September 2021 the Water Edition is back in Belgium! Get ready for the most challenging water obstacles during the spectacular 4km, 7km, 13km, 19km or 42km obstacle run track! The Strong Viking Water Edition takes place at the beautiful Provinciaal Domein Puyenbroeck, where in addition to a lot of water obstacles, you will have to conquer land obstacles and our famous Strong Viking Mud Area!
The Strong Viking Water Edition is chosen as best obstacle run in the Benelux with obstacles such as the Water Hill, Water Road, Storm the Castle and last but not least: the 12 meter high Fjord Drop!

Yes, it is mandatory. Events in Belgium are allowed to take place when they conform to the conditions set by the government.
Indoor and outdoor events are only accessible with the Covid Safe ticket (for everyone 12 years and older). With the Coronacheck app anyone can retrieve the corona ticket/QR code.*

Yes, every participant receives a number on a wristband with which he/she can drop-off their bag in a guarded baggage room.* There are no lockers on site! Make sure you bring a bag for your belongings, at the checkroom they only accept bags and no loose items!
Be advised, only 1 bag allowed per participant!
*Leaving your bag is always at your own risk.
No, there is no changing room or rinse-off area available at the event site. So please come dressed to the event. There is a place where you can leave your bag/luggage.
There is a start time on your ticket. We ask you to arrive half an hour before the start time.
Yes, there is catering available on the event island.

Each start wave is named after a Viking god/goddess or king and has a different start time. This is to let you know at what time you must begin. Start waves also have varying distances between 42, 19, 13 or 7km.
For the Family Editions startwaves are designated by color according to their start time and vary in distance between 3 and 5km
The minimum participation age varies according to the distances:
4km - Family Run: min. age 5 years old (or becomes 5 in that calender year)
4km - Beginning: min. 12 years old (or becomes 12 in this calender year)
7km: min. age 13 years old (or becomes 13 in that calender year)
13km: min. age 14 years old (or becomes 14 in that calender year)
19km and OCR Series: min. age 16 years old (or becomes 16 in that calender year)
42km Iron Viking: min. age 18 years old
60km Ultra Viking: min. age 18 years old
Of course, you are very welcome to come and encourage the participants! Entrance to the area is free and open from 8:30am.
No, every obstacle has a ‘walk by’. You define your own limits/capabilities. “Strong Viking is not a Race, it’s a challenge!”
Yes! During the run there are a number of refreshments posts with water and Herbalife Nutrition drinks and power bars. Click here to see the products/ingredients. In addition, there is also a Red Bull Energypoint where you can enjoy Red Bull mixed with water to provide you with extra energy to complete the course.
For Iron Vikings there is the possibility to leave your own extra nutrition at a designated spot on the track.
Yes, this is possible. However, always check the measures in force in your own country regarding entry and exit traveling.
Yes, visitors are welcome! To enter the event grounds, visitors must also be in possession of a valid QR code in the CoronaCheck app and ID.
