The V-Test was developed with the knowledge and background of the Strong Viking team, with a derivative of the worldwide military admission requirements. Scoring a V-Test level 12 equals the admission requirements for commandos/marines. It is the ultimate test for your body on both strength and condition! A level between 1 to 16 after completing the V-Test says something about your overall fitlevel and is your gauge for being fit for a lifetime! Challenge your friends to take the test, measure yourself with thousands of other Vikings around the world and become a better version of yourself!
How does it work?
After purchasing your ticket you will start the challenge within a week by means of a V-Test baseline measurement. Immediately after entering the score of your baseline measurement, you will receive a personalized six week training schedule from Strong Viking with the exclusive V-Test Workout shirt. Put a cirkel around your V-Test date in week 7. This is the point you will focus on for the coming 6 weeks: TIME TO GO TO YOUR MAX!
The personal six week training schedule is tailored to the different disciplines of the V-Test. We are going to help you with the personal training schedule to make you at least 20% stronger, in only six weeks time! Your final result of the V-Test will be determined by the average of the individual components below. These will be assessed in a level from 1 to 16. The V-Test Challenge can both be done indoors or outdoors, the choice is yours!

No, you decide when you will take baseline measurement & V-Test. Please note that if you have purchased a Basic+ or a Premium ticket, your personal six-weeks training schedule starts immediately after completing your baseline measurement! You will take the V-test in the 7th week: TIME TO GO TO YOUR MAX!
The V-test is a derivative of the military entrance test, in which the most important strength and fitness exercises have to be done to determine your overall fitness. These are the exercises: Push-Ups (pushing), Sit-Ups (abdominal muscles), Pull-Ups (pulling) and the Cooper test (12 minutes run/running).
Is an exercise too heavy and/or can't you do it? Then an alternative form is possible for each individual exercise. Read the alternatives below and/or take a good look at the execution through the example videos. When entering your scores, please pay attention to how to enter your alternative score correctly, for a correct final score!
Push-Ups
If a regular Push-up is (yet) too heavy/not possible, it is allowed to perform a Knee Push-up as an alternative. You can use your knees for support to make it a little less heavy. The further you slide your knees under your body, the lighter the exercise becomes. Take a look at the example here.
Sit-Ups
If a regular Sit-up is not possible, you can perform Chrunches instead. In this case you won't get as far up as with a regular Sit-up, what makes it easier to perform. Check the explanation video here. Again, keep this in mind when passing on your scores!
Pull-Ups.
Is a Pull-up too heavy and/or can't you pull yourself up completely from a dead-hang position? Then it is possible to simply hang on the pull-up rod as long as you can. How long can you keep it up? Count the seconds and finally pass them on in the form. Please make sure to perform this exercise properly and check the how-to video via the following link.
Running/Coopertest
In case you can't run for the full 12 minutes, it is allowed to walk/jog for the rest of the time, as long as you keep moving! It is not allowed to stop en rest within those 12 minutes time. You need to keep moving and cover as many (kilo)meters as possible within the given time!
If you choose for a Basic+ and/or Premium ticket, you will receive a personalized training schedule from us. This schedule will be drawn up by experienced Strong Viking instructors and send to you based on the results of your baseline measurement. We will make sure that you become 20% stronger in 6 weeks time! The schedule will be send to you the same day after your baseline measurement!
If you bought a V-Test Basic+ and/or Premium ticket, you will receive a €5,- shopcredit for www.obstaclerunshop.com
You'll receive your shopcredit directly after completing the V-test by mail.
No, each ticket entitles you to 1 test. It is therefore not possible to enter your score more than once. The first time counts! So be careful to enter the correct details when submitting your score manually!
The V-test Workout Shirt will be delivered to your home within 1-2 weeks, so you can show everyone that you are trainingup to the challenge!
Yes, that is possible! In this case you can also choose to purchase a Basic ticket. In that case, you can perform the test again without a baseline measurement and/or training programme! The score will of course be recalculated and you can compare your score with the other time.
No, where you do the V-test is up to you! If you are an outdoors person and like to take the test in nature, then this is obviously a good thing! Do you prefer working out in a gym and/or do you have the facilities to take the test at home? Then of course it is allowed to complete the exercises and go running on the treadmill!
*For the V-Test Championship it is important/mandatoy to take the test outdoors.
