Saturday 10 October and Sunday 11 October the Viking horn will officially start the Strong Viking Brother Edition and Family Edition in Amsterdam! After a forced 'summer sleep' of six months we are eager to start again with the first and also the last Strong Viking Edition of 2020, after the Corona lockdown in Holland. A perfect combination with the flaming and fraternizing concept of the Brother Edition!

Suffer with a smile together with thousands of Viking friends, help each other out and finally toast on your achievement when reaching Walhalla (off course with 1.5 meters distance)! The government's safety measures are adhered and we have made some adjustments so that we can guarantee the 1.5 meter rule at all times. The special Corona protocol has been submitted and the municipality was immediately enthusiastic!

Everything is described in detail for the Corona protocol by the event managers. The final document is submitted to the municipality who was excited when first reading it. The document is now sent to all the different safety-disciplines such as the police, fire brigade, GHOR, GGD etc. Any questions will be answered by Strong Viking, after which the final adjustments will be processed in the plan which will then be sent back to the municipality.

Start & finish area

A very spacious Start Finish area at another location on the terrain gives us the opportunity to guarantee the 1.5m rule. As we must respect this rule in everything we do, the start procedure has also been adjusted. We will not start with two major starting groups of 300 people per section as usual, but with 16 sections next to each other where everyone stands 1.5m apart. Participants will be placed in a large row so that they can quickly cross the starting line, with securing the 1.5m rule. Of course, Cynthia & Henry are waiting for you with the famous Strong Viking warm-up!

There will be multiple disinfection points on the terrain and on the course. In addition, we have made adjustments to the obstacles, for which contact with others is avoided as much as possible. The refreshment points are set up extra wide and long, so that everyone can keep their distance. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to facilitate a shower and changing facilities this edition, after consultation with the various authorities. So we have to ask participants to change their clothes by their car.

Of course, every Strong Viking will receive the unique Strong Viking finisher shirt, beer and experience at the finish! However, the finish photo will be taken before the run to avoid queues after the Walhalla Steps and to facilitate a good flow towards the exit! The action photos and videos during the run are of course present, so you can start planning that new social media profile picture! In short: All the ingredients for the unique Strong Viking Brother Edition 2020, taking all safety regulations into account!

As described, it’s unfortunately not allowed to offer showers and changing facilities this edition, but there is a guarded cloakroom tent with extra entrances, in which one-way traffic is used. Here you can hand in your bag with a vest, the rest of the clothes can be left in the car. There will also be a very spacious catering place where the seating options have a large distance from each other. You can get your own food or drink and eat it on this square, so you can still enjoy that well-deserved Viking Burger afterwards!
